About Trawler Academy
Our Mission
At Trawler Academy, we are dedicated to providing exceptional education tailored to all levels of boating skill and experience for any vessel.
Our mission is to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to gain confidence to take their cruising to the next level.
Whether you are new to boating, have recently upgraded to a larger vessel, or are considering the switch from sail to power, we will help you get "brilliant on the basics", and then help you expand on that knowledge so you can outfit your boat, do short and long-range voyage planning, operate and navigate safely, and ultimately expand your cruising grounds.

Trawler Academy founder, Tate Westbrook earned his first master's license (200T) in 1994 and continued with a 28-year career as a US Navy officer, including Captain of a Destroyer (DDG), and Commodore of a Squadron of ships.
